Share a little bit about who you are
as a mom outside of the business.
I am a married mother of two crazy
beautiful little girls who inspire me every day to be present and to live in
the moment. I am an animal lover and music lover who secretly wishes to be a
singer one day but I am WAY too shy for that.
Share how and why you got started
with your business.
Currently I have started two
businesses, Central Coast Estate Liquidators and Willow Creek Barn which is a
vacation rental/event venue. Some may say that I can’t make up my mind but I
say you have to follow your passion and interests to keep you happy and having
no regrets.
My estate liquidation business grew
from originally going to garage sales and storage lockers to buy and resell. My
husband and I brainstormed for a while trying to think of a way that we can
continue to find and sell interesting items without the risk of putting money
up front and there grew Central Coast Estate Liquidators. We also had a booth
at a local antique mall where we sold our garage sale finds but ended up
becoming hoarders because it’s impossible to sell everything! So obviously
something had to change. I absolutely LOVE my job and I am incredibly lucky to
be able to do what I love.
Willow Creek Barn is a 100 year old
barn located on my parents 30 acre property on the west side of Paso Robles. I
have always talked to my parents about starting some sort of venue there
because it’s too beautiful not to share. We are currently in the process of
restoring it and making it wedding/party ready! We hope to have it up and
running by the end of the summer.
How do you manage running your
business and motherhood?
Sometimes it’s a struggle working
and trying to spend time with my children but I know this is something I have
to do for myself and my sanity, as well as to help out financially. I am lucky
to have a job where I only work a few weeks out of the month and the rest I get
to be a full time Mom. This gives me the break I need from “mom life” and helps
me feel more fulfilled.
I absolutely could not do what I do
without the support of my amazing husband, parents and in-laws who help watch
my girls and encourage me. I have never been told I couldn’t do whatever I
wanted in life (thank you, Mom and Dad) and I think that has really opened my
mind to all the possibilities and all the dreams I can accomplish if I set my
mind to it.
Your favorite/best thing about your
business?
A couple of my favorite things about
both my businesses is that I get to meet and work with the nicest people. I
also am constantly learning and researching which keeps me interested and
excited!
